Keep Hands Busy Between Turns

SKYJO is turn-based, so there's a lot of watching and waiting β€” especially around a full table of eight. We like keeping a couple of NeeDoh toys within reach: quiet enough not to break anyone's concentration, satisfying enough to stop the fidgeters from peeking at the deck. Great for ages 8+, sensory-friendly, and the perfect companion for a quick 30-minute round (or a long Skyjo marathon).

We played this at our friends house and then bought it for ourselves that very week! A super fun game that has enough strategy to keep you thinking but not so thought heavy that you can't talk and enjoy time with others while playing. We had a 7 year old playing with us and he enjoyed it just as much as the adults so it is great for all ages! The cards a beautiful vibrant colors, and of high quality. The instructions are easy to understand. This is a great game to have at home and to gift to others.

I recently received the game Skyjo, and it arrived in perfect condition with all its pieces intact and well-packaged. The cards were crisp and undamaged, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It's a fun and engaging game that's easy to learn but still offers plenty of strategy to keep things interesting. My family and I had a blast playing it the first nightβ€”it's fast-paced, lighthearted, and great for all ages. Highly recommend for game nights or as a gift!

Jocelyn

Purchased this game upon a family member's recommendation. We've had a lot of fun with it. It's easy to learn, and once you've played it a few times, you begin to realize there's some strategy to it; it's not just a matter of exchanging a higher card for a lower one. Two people can enjoy it, but it's more fun with four or more. This would be a great game for kids, too. The game is small and compact, making it easy to pack and take on trips.

This game is so much fun! It took a few hands until we realized that you had to really strategize before making a move. My kids do everything in their power to make sure my hubby and I have super high hands! My kids are 15 and 18. I think age range wise maybe 9 and older. I'm not going to fib I was having a super hard time understanding the instructions so I ended up watching a youtube video how to play. After that it was so easy to understand. Sometimes games take 5 minutes sometimes they take 30. But no matter how long a game takes we always have a lot of fun.

Savannah

My friend has this game and I liked it so much I bought 6 to give as gifts to some friends. Its fun and easy to play. You don't need to pay a lot of attention so you can chatter on about anything while you do. Yes, yes you do need to pay some attention but you can also play a bit stupid and still have fun. No matter how much planning you do, you never know who's going to win the round. Its basically 2 decks of cards that you play while face down. The most difficult part is adding up your score at the end of the round. Kids love it because they can play it with the adults and adults love it because well its FUN!

Michelle

Good game for anywhere from 2 to lots of players. Can take a while to play a full game if you have a lot of people, but sometimes my wife and I will just play a couple of rounds if we want a short game. Simple enough for grade school kids. It is about 80 percent dumb luck, and 20 percent strategic skill. So if you're really competitive, it would probably be frustrating, LoL.

About SKYJO

SKYJO began with a clear ambition: to create a card game that could be learned in minutes, enjoyed by almost anyone, and returned to again and again without losing its edge. The result was a deceptively straightforward design built around a single objective - score as few points as possible - and mechanics that reward attention, timing, and calculated risk.

Published by Magilano and manufactured in Germany, SKYJO was developed with accessibility and quality at its core. Simple rules, fast setup, and round-based play made it suitable for short sessions, while the constant tension between luck and strategy ensured lasting appeal across family tables, friend groups, and larger social gatherings alike.

At the heart of the game is open information management. Players gradually reveal, exchange, and discard cards from a hidden 12-card grid, tracking both their own position and the actions of others. Special rules - such as discarding entire columns of matching cards - introduce moments of surprise and encourage bold decisions. The scoring range, from negative values up to double digits, keeps every round unpredictable until the final reveal.

The SKYJO Family

As the audience grew, the SKYJO universe expanded. SKYJO ACTION introduced action and star cards, adding new layers of interaction and tactical depth for experienced players. SKYJO JUNIOR adapted the concept for younger children, replacing numbers with fruit symbols and focusing on early counting, memory, and confidence through play. Each version stayed true to the original philosophy: easy to learn, quick to play, and engaging across generations.

A Modern Classic

Today, SKYJO is played in multiple languages and countries - appreciated for its portability, its balance of chance and decision-making, and its ability to bring different ages and experience levels together at the same table. What started as a compact card game has become a game-night staple, built around clarity, replayability, and the simple pleasure of trying to outscore everyone else by scoring less.
